Defensive Driving Classes

Drivers of all ages can sharpen driving skills, receive an insurance discount, and reduce violation points. One check or money order per person only. No cash.

Empire Safety Council Defensive Driving. Saturday, September 11, 9:30 am - 3:30 pm. $35 per person, payable to Stephen Donnelly. Registration is now open.


AARP Defensive Driving Class. Monday, October 4, 10:00 - 6:00 pm. $12.00 for AARP members (must show AARP membership card at time of registration) and $14.00 for non-members. Registration began August 28 for OBEN residents; and on September 14 for non-residents, space permitting.


Empire Safety Council Defensive Driving. Saturday, October 9, 9:30 am - 3:30 pm. $28 per person, payable to Empire Safety Council. Registration opens September 9.


Crochet Classes with Sue O.

6:30 pm

Sue Ostrowski returns to teach you how to crochet a baby sweater. There is a one-time $5.00 materials fee, payable at time of registration. Registration is now open.


Machu Picchu & the Galapagos

Carole and Richard Witkover present a dynamic multimedia show featuring their real-life adventures in and around the hidden city of Machu Picchu, Quito and Guyaquil in Ecuador, and the beautiful Galapagos Islands. Registration is now open.


Computer Kindergarten for Grownups

6:30 - 8:30 pm

This is a slow-paced, user-friendly workshop for first time computer users. Topics covered are: turning the computer on, the desktop, using the mouse, opening and closing programs, understanding Windows elements, and turning the computer off. $4.00 fee per patron, due at sign-up. Join Stu Gershon as he takes you on a photo journey of the new Las Vegas. Registration is now open for OB-EN residents; and starting on September 8 for non-residents, space permitting.

Fall Wreath Craft

Linda Reilly will use the colors of autumn to help you make a beautiful wreath. There is a $12.00 materials fee, due at time of registration. Registration began August 30 for OB-EN residents, and begins September 15 for non-residents, space permitting.


Computer 3rd Grade for Grownups

This hands-on workshop will deal with multitasking, working with graphics, and using Windows drawing and painting tools. There is a $4.00 fee per patron, due at sign up. Registration begins September 7 for OB-EN residents; and on September 21 for non-residents, space permitting.


“Naturally Inspired” Film: March of the Penguins (G, 85 min)

Co-sponsored by the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center, this film is a beautiful and heart-warming look at the lives and struggles of Antarctica’s Emperor Penguins. Registration begins September 7.

Ghosts & Legends of Long Island

LISPR returns to discuss the stories behind some of the most famous haunted locations on Long Island, and what ghosts and the paranormal are really about. Registration begins September 19.


Chocolate Cornucopia Craft

MaryAnn Impostato of Kids Edible Creations returns for another fun chocolate workshop! You’ll get to chocolate-dip one dozen scrumptious sweets to fill your own pre-molded chocolate cornucopia. Computer 5th Grade for Grownups

Learn how to save files to the desktop, move to and from My Documents and the Recycle Bin, create folders on the desktop and more. There is a $4.00 fee per patron, due at sign up. Registration begins September 27 for OB-EN residents; and on October 12 for non-residents, space permitting.


Long Island’s Most Haunted Mansions

Join Monica Randall as she shares some true stories of spectral beings who sometimes show up on film and make their ethereal voices heard in the night. Registration begins September 27 for OB-EN residents; and on October 13 for non-residents, space permitting.
